Christmas Countdown: Day 9-12

and HOWDY Again! Here I am reflecting on December Challenge Day 9-12, posting late night because MAN today was a whirlwind!

Day 9: Bake Christmas Brownies

So my vision of Christmas Brownies were either Christmas Shaped Brownies or Christmas-colored M&M’s in my brownies. Unfortunately, my resources were a bit slim so the vision I had for Brownies were not executed! BUT… NOT TO FEAR!!

There is always room to prep your ideal Christmas Brownie – you just gotta think OUTSIDE THE BOX. (Get it… OUTSIDE THE BOX????)

Christmas Brownies

And YAS, we thought OUTSIDE OF THE BOX! The brownie box that is, meaning we have a cylinder addition that we were able to top the brownies with! *drumroll please* Featuring the Limited Edition Peppermint Ice Cream – Oh, happy day. Must I say, The Peppermint Ice Cream mixed with Brownies was a great combination that definitely kept the December festivities going.

However *** NOTE TO SELF: I definitely have to look at the next day challenges so I can better prepare to carpe each diem.

We also went to a White Elephant Onesie Party! Check out our Stormtrooper and Chewbacca suit 😀

Day 10: Get a New Ornament

Another day of money going down the pipes!! Because what’s December without spending tons of money (cries deeply inside).

Well not necessarily, but having a partner to help me with this challenge has been KEY to keep this going. And here we finally have our FIRST OFFICIAL ornament that together. Finally, after 3 years and 4 Christmases together. It’s a start to a tradition 😉

Day 11: Write a Sweet Letter to Someone

Some people find it tough to write a sweet letter to someone, including me. But writing a sweet letter other than your significant other sure helps you feel more selfless. I just feel that you were able to ponder and take a deep insight into another person’s life and greeting them with something that would definitely lift their spirits.

A few tips that I found helpful to start your sweet letters:

  • Tell them why you chose them to write to. There should be an AMAZING reason.
  • Reflect on their year. What did this person normally share with you? Did their stories have anything in common with one another that made them want to share them with you? Or did their stories help you in a way? Jot it down.
  • What’s their #1 Trait? Remind them. And tell them how grateful you are to know someone to have that #1 trait (If you really are grateful).
  • And tell them they have a friend in you. I mean come on, dude, you’re writing a sweet letter. BE SWEET.

And here’s a photo of my Sweet Letter recipient: my coworker, Natasha!

I bid her nothing but love, happiness, and a brighter year. CARPE YEAR!

Day 12: Make S’mores

After a day of being sweet, treat yo’self! I loved this day because I love food! S’mores are your typical graham crackers with your chocolate and marshmallows (because obviously who doesn’t know that)…  but DUDE – it doesn’t HAVE to be that way!

My roommates and I made our own concoction of S’mores using cookies instead of crackers!! COOKIES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. And like I said, it’s nice to twist up a challenge for someone else other than your partner, especially when they get so busy. And look at my housemates working so hard together.

Oh, and did I mention it wasn’t just ANY cookie… but Doughbie Cookies! We had Doughbie Cookies as the ends…  with their festive Confetti Cookies Merry n’ Mini Holiday Cookie Jar and their signature Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt. I swear, add this with the Peppermint Ice Cream and you will never regret eating this unforgiving dessert.

I mean look how good that is!

Other than that. That’s all folks! Now let me enjoy the next few days with more Christmas Cheer. However, I made another DIY Christmas Decor that you guys need to check out next.

Christmas Countdown: Day 5-8

Hi Again! I’m super late on updating!

However…. BEHOLD DAY 5-8! Here’s a little refresh of the December Challenge Calendar:

Day 5: Make a DIY Decor

I’m of course going to make something Christmas-related for this Specific Challenge. This little process literally took no more than 20 minutes – AND I used the SAME materials that I’m going to use for the wreath (Day 7) to help save money. Easy.

I made a Christmas Door Knob Hanger!

This process is so simple. I’ll be posting DIY directions soon.

Day 6: Drink Hot Cocoa

A little relaxing challenge. What’s another way to continue the warm feels of Christmas besides a good old cup of HOT cocoa (No, I never had eggnog, so cocoa it is)

Me and DGB used our new mugs and he toasted up with marshmallows.

There’s not much to say about how we made the hot cocoa because some workdays are busier than others. That being said, we made it with a quick Nestle mix. A few chill days is good for the Christmas Spirit! You don’t want to stress yourself out.

However, I will get back to you on a nice hot cocoa recipe sometime 🙂

Day 7: Decorate a Wreath

Here we are taking time to decorate a fake wreath. So no, this is not the one that you can pick up some forage and put together (sad face and unfortunately). But I have a good reason! I wanted to decorate a wreath that we could hang up every year, ergo, I wanted the first one that we decorated together to be a fake one.

Materials below (Mind you, some of these were used for the doorknob hangar):

Materials that I’ve used to secure the decorations are as follows:

  • Hot Glue
  • Thin White String

The String was used to secure the larger decorations on the wreath and the Christmas bells. It’s a bit tough to strategically place the  Christmas bells, but I recommend to tie them down one by one.

As for the hot glue,  I’ve used this to secure the smaller items around the larger decorations and to glue the BELIEVE sign.

Make your little bow and bam! Christmas Wreath. (Then get your wreath hangar, duh).

Day 8: Make HomeMade Christmas Cards

For this one, I wanted to make something simple but a bit funny. To keep cards fun, I just cut up a few pics, put them on cardstock, and wrote whatever I liked for our little Greeting Cards.

My friends are a more sentimental-loving type of people, so they appreciated the legit goof behind the gift.

As mentioned, you’re going to need a chill day in a Challenge – kind of like little breaks between your workouts.

Here’s them receiving it on Day 9!

Yes, I sucked at blogging in time for these days, but HAIII I did it! And I’m still here writing for my next few days so we can catch up a bit 🙂

Continuing from Day 8, however, DGB and I enjoyed my work Christmas Party!

That is it for now, Cheers!

Christmas Countdown: Day 1-4

Happy December!

Man, I am SO into the Christmas Spirit this year!

Instantly right after Thanksgiving, DGB and I put up the Christmas tree, lights, and a few decorations that we have! (Yes, started early, no big deal). We had an amazing time traveling during November, hence why I barely posted in the month, but here I am! READY for December.

I wanted to do something different other than attend Christmas parties and give gifts, so, what more to end the year with a little Christmas Spirit Challenge? LONG BEHOLD AND PRESENTING: just my little online, advent version of a challenge to help get us PUMPED for Christmas (or get me pumped, whatever). christmaschallenge2017

Let me get Started! but first – look at me Christmas Ready…….

Day 1: Get Jolly w/ Friends

LIFTOFF. Since I’ve already gone Christmas decoration crazy at home, I’ve figured getting “Jolly” with friends on December 1st would do. Yes – any type of Jolly, but in my case, good booze JOLLY.

We continue from the Thanksgiving week to starting off December 1st with a spirit of more giving and a spirit of more gratefulness… Ergo, I felt that getting a tad bit “jolly” with good people would be great to start with (plus feeling the Christmas vibes with the decorations around the house.)

Funny that this was placed as the first challenge because we’ve spent a good time catching up and sharing about how much we LOVE Christmas – so we were ALL ready.  In my opinion, well-placed 1st Day Challenge. Maybe it should be a good excuse to get Jolly with my friends all the time.

More of a thoughtful tip: Good vibes start of December, Good vibes rest of December

Day 2: Watch a Christmas Movie

I’ve bugged DGB about this, but omg yes! He put on a Christmas movie for us and family to watch!

I suppose the gif gave it away *smirk face*, but so many Christmas movies and DGB picked ELF. Will Ferrell, you the man. DGB said he only wanted a funny, Christmas movie – so got this

Day 3: Give an Early Gift

I kind of aimlessly missed this challenge for Day 1, but yo, having this challenge placed on the third day feels right because it gives you a little push of a reason to keep looking into the REST of December.

Nonetheless, I found some time for some more lonesome Christmas decoration shopping on the 3rd. This definitely works in my favor because I swear that I CANNOT think whenever DGB comes with me to the store – he’s always rushing me! So yes, I got some alone time and hit the stores.

Okay, it’s not like I went to the store for some serious Christmas shopping, but where does one go to find Christmas decorations? Target, Michael’s, etc – I went there. While shopping for “myself”, I did come across this CUUTTEE Christmas mug that I had to get for DGB.

“King” and “Queen” mug. Okay, fine, considering this is kind of cheating because it was a gift for myself too, but DGB and I actually LOVE calling each other this. Since we already have Mickey and Minnie mugs, I just think this is also a cute reasonable mug to have and give my bb a little gift (and a gift for myself 😀 )

So there ya have it. A little early gift Challenge and he loved it! (No lies, I swear)

Day 4: Donate to a Charity

Christmas is a month of giving, and not often do we think about giving to others who are not as blessed as us. I was inspired to donate to a charity because 1, my workplace has been strongly influencing others to give and volunteer (so yes, it’s working on me), and 2, I’ve realized that there are a lot of opportunities that I’ve missed to give back this year- so why not do it in December?

Considering that there is currently a donation drive at my job for St. Anthony’s (along with the fact that I want to give more than just clothes to donate) – I made a quick online donation for the Charity. It’s simple, easy, fast.

Why also St. Anthony’s? Well, not only is it based in San Francisco, but they help in ways other than just food and clothing, such as providing resources and health care. Every dollar counts, and every individual deserves an opportunity to flourish, so it doesn’t matter the amount you provide – I believe it’s in the Spirit of Giving.
Christmas Spirit is not only about the lights and trees and songs! I felt that placing this specific challenge during the first four days would also help to remind me that I am beyond BLESSED to have my family and a boyfriend to celebrate Christmas with. Therefore, I hope I inspire you to give during this holiday season with this Specific Challenge!

Mind you, I’m always going to be celebrating Christmas in different ways each week – this challenge is going to be amazing because it’s definitely going to vibe up every December Day before we end the year 2017 Strong!

Museum of Ice Cream Experience!

Happy Halloween!

I’ve been so busy for the past month and I SWEAR I have new videos/blogs/surprises for you. I’ve been getting caught up with flights tiring me out and catching a cold set me back just a bit!

But, that didn’t stop me from working and having fun!

What I AM excited to share with you are my little flicks of my friends at the Museum of Ice Cream! I caught plenty of candids and few posed shots BUT I wanted to showcase the favorites from our camera at this little event.

Now what do I think about the Museum of Ice Cream? I mean, yes, It’s cool – but the museum was hot! (Temperature hot, my friends.) You would have thought that they would have at least have a real chilly museum since it’s about ice cream… and we were sweating bullets.

Nonetheless, the place is cute! The exhibit definitely had fun little distractions that would definitely take up your time. I’m probably more about spending time with people than really browsing an area, so we basically messed around the whole time we were in the museum. Yussir, I had fun!

With a group of 6 (and a group of people who doesn’t really read the did you know facts), we’ve spent a great hour and a half in the exhibit.

My faves: the MOCHI ICE CREAM AND THE ICE CREAM SCOOPS. There are treats EVERY corner so you’ll be all sugared up. I totally limited myself because I hate the feeling of sugar rush lol.

Favorite distraction of the museum: The boomerang videos! Haha omg, we made so much of these, I swear we weren’t too hyped about the sprinkle pool compared to making these videos.

For kids? Hell yes! They would love the candy decorations that the museum showcases. Although – I feel that certain things are not allowed to be touched and it’s more of a picture-taking event.

Further notes: use the restroom before you go AND eat before you go (unless you’re trying to have candy for dinner). They do not have a bathroom at every corner.

The price worth? I wouldn’t buy tickets if someone’s trying to resell and upsell. It’s totally worth the regular price.
